Sonatas for two violins and bc

William Williams, Six Sonatas in Three Parts

The first modern edition of three trio sonatas for two violins, bass viol (or cello) and bc by Purcell's contemporary, William Williams, from his published set of Six Sonatas in Three Parts (London, 1700; R/1703). These sonatas show Purcell's influence, but also Williams's own talent as a composer.
